I am proud to serve as your Ward 3 City Councillor.

As your representative, I govern based on respect for lived experiences, engage residents in the process of municipal government, and empower residents to be part of the solutions that serve our ward today and city for generations to come.

Over the first term in Council, I have advanced policy changes that have resulted in significant shifts in how the city carries out services in equity and inclusion, climate action, living wage, dignified and affordable housing, safer streets including side-walk snow removal and removing trucks from our neighbourhood roadways, and increasing investments into public transit.

With a focus on better neighbourhoods and the goal to continuously improve community life in the ward, in the first term I am proud to have accomplished the following:

  • safer and more complete streets with new pedestrian crossovers, improved sidewalks, reduced speed and initiated a comprehensive review of all neighbourhood roads.

  • park improvements that include bringing back drinking fountains, building new spray pads and playground structures to improve inclusive and accessible play.

  • and, support for resident-led, community-focused initiatives from transforming underutilized public spaces to expanding program outreach into under-served communities.

For a more in-depth overview of the wins, investments, and initiatives accomplished alongside many of our neighbours year-to-year, please read the Better Neighbourhoods section of the website and the annual Community Impact Reports, which are delivered to every household across the ward.

Prior to my time as Councillor, I spent my career committed to community and resident leadership with 20 years of experience as a community organizer, community-building, and leadership development. I bring this expertise and knowledge to my role as your City Councillor each day. I’m also a mom with a young child, raising a multi-generational family in the Sherman Hub.

My team and I are interested in solutions that help our community thrive and we are here to serve and support you. From day-to-day resident support and engagement to regular communications and updates, my office and I are committed to championing the solutions needed for the issues that matter most to you.

Let’s work together to lift Ward 3 up and build belonging.

Our Ward 3

Ward 3 is a diverse urban ward in the lower city below the Niagara Escarpment (often referred to as the Mountain). The ward is ordered by the Escarpment to the south, Hamilton Harbour to the north, Ottawa Street to the east, and Wellington Street to the west, connecting to the Claremont Access.

Approximately a third of our ward is industrial and commercial land. It is also home to Hamilton General Hospital and St. Peter’s Hospital (both part of Hamilton Health Sciences), Tim Hortons Field and Gage Park.

Ward 3 is located within the Hamilton Conservation Authority watershed, on the traditional territories of the Haudenausaunee, Mississaugas, Neutral, Erie and the Huron-Wendat.
